Annotation

Beam includes annotation tools for marking up sheet music directly in the app. Available tools include a pencil, highlighter, and text tool. Each tool supports a selection of preset colors, with the option to set a custom color. The pencil and highlighter also support adjustable thickness and opacity. Up to 12 Custom Tools can be saved for quick access when annotating other songs.

Annotations in Beam are organized by layer. Administrators can annotate directly on parts, and those annotations appear as a separate layer visible to participants. Participants can also annotate on their own individual part. Administrators can additionally annotate on a specific participant's part, which supports use cases such as private lessons or individualized feedback.
