Beam offers a number of tools to make importing PDF sheet music efficient and flexible:
PDFs can be imported as separate files per part or as a single PDF containing all parts
During import, you can select which pages from uploaded PDFs should be assigned to which parts
Beam includes a robust, continuously updated list of part names categorized by instrument family
Beam includes a set of editing tools for adjusting files during or after import:
Crop
— Remove excess white space to maximize display size
Cut
— Slice a page vertically or horizontally to create two pages from one
Duplicate
— Make a copy of the current page
Rotate
— Rotate a page in 90-degree increments
Delete
— Remove a page or multiple selected pages from the PDF
Create a song
Songs can be created in the Music tab and automatically assigned to the current Group
Tap the
Music tab
Tap the Songs tab at the top
Tap the
add button in the bottom right corner
Select Create New Song
Enter a song name, composer (optional), and duration (optional) and tap Create
Import files
Beam needs access to PDFs from your local device or cloud storage
With the song details open, tap the Files tab at the top
Tap Import Files or
Navigate to PDFs on your device or cloud storage to import into Beam
Once imported, they will be listed in the Files tab for the song
Create parts
Parts can be created after uploading each PDF file
Tap Create Parts on the appropriate file
Use the tools to select which pages from the PDF will be assigned to the part
Tap Assign to Part
Tap the instrument families to locate an appropriate part
(optional)
favorite any instruments you plan to assign frequently
If applicable, assign a number to the part
Tap Create Part and Assign
Continue creating and assigning parts as needed
